Ceci était ma seconde visite dans ce restaurant et cela a confirmé ma première impression. Cuisine simple et traditionnelle mais de bon goût et de bonne qualité. Accueil chaleureux et décontracté dans un cadre ancien plein de charme.
Conclusion: un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Un endroit où je reviendrai très certainement.

The atmosphere in this nice little restaurant on a lovely location and with great, carefully prepared food, is completely killed by the atmosphere among the serving team and the Lady who seems to be managing the place. When you come to this place and see the faces of the waiters, they seem as if the "Lady" has just beaten and tortured them. Still, their conduct is very professional until you ask the "Lady" if it is OK that a couple of people from the reserved table of 8 MIGHT not eat a full meal. At that point, it is stressed that "this place is not a brasserie", so everybody MUST eat. The rest of the evening can be characterised as "professional conduct towards meaningless cattle". Alas.

We selected three restaurants in Brussels for our 5-day stay, May 2010. Each was noted for its beer-based sauces and its craft beer list, as well as for offering good versions of signature Belgian dishes. The neighborhood is near Sint Katherine's square and it has a full compliment of cafes with outdoor seating. La Villette only has a few outside tables and is cosy inside, where we dined. We reserved well in advance because the place is favored by local diners. Our welcome was friendly and helpful. Service was attentive throughout. Sauces were fine, as was the craft beer list. There were plenty of good choices on the menu without having so many as to compromise quality.
